Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Lawnyae is an alumna of Pace University, Carnegie Mellon's Pre-College Drama Program, Pittsburgh Musical Theatre, and Pittsburgh's School for the Creative Arts (CAPA) Lawnyae has always been an avid student of acting, vocals, and dance.

Lawnyae's most prominent credits include first place for the August Wilson Monologue contest where she had a chance to be trained under Denzel Washington and Viola Davis, Empire, and performing for the First lady, Michelle Obama, and other world-renowned first ladies for the G20Summit.
